Exploring Function
I have had my eye on this telephone box for a while now, it is situated in the next village and it always amuses me, even before thinking of it as a photographic subject. Sometimes the road in front of it is congested with cars, so I have been waiting for a time when it wasn't too busy, and I was armed with camera. So eventually got the shots below. I thought it was just a different take on exploring the function of and interior space. Firstly we see the telephone box and expect to find a phone for use inside. However most of us have a mobile phone now and so hardly ever find the need to use such a phone box. I really like the phone box and would be sad to see them go, but Little Hadham have found an alternative use for theirs, placing old / read books in for others to read - like a swap shop - mini library.
I think this is a great use of space, shared by many, using a space which was hardly ever used because of changing times, and with the addition or recycling books, letting others read for free.
This space most definitely works better as a library rather than a phone, which was probably broken anyway.
Delightful.
